Guest guest
Awesome find with the 12's!!!! I'm glad you are getting your computer fixed as well! :)Darcy I'm working on my basement desktop computer which is ancient and unreliable at best. It is also all of 60 degrees down here so I have my portable heater blasting at me from 2 feet away! My laptop, I hope, will be safely home on Wednesday. I found a new repair shop, very highly recommended and they said they could replace the power cord connector with something that would make it very unlikely it would come loose again. (DH did not want to touch it and was even afraid to touch it because he knew I'd be more than a little upset if he didn't know what he was doing, which he doesn't and messed it up. For once he admitted he didn't know what he was doing and did NOT want to try anyway, I'm surprised there were no earthquakes when that happened but am grateful too.) I looked at the shop's website before I went and was very impressed with how up front they were about what they do and don't do and how much they charge. I liked the shop and the people working there when I got there too, it had a good tech feeling about it without seeming dirty (we're geeks, we don't care) or " so geek we can't communicate with other human beings. " I've been in several other computer repair shops and not had such a good feeling about them before despite recommendations. One guy at this one said it would " never " come loose again and another guy there said, " well, maybe never is too strong but what we do will make it very unlikely to happen. " So, for app. $200 they're replacing it and I'm not having to purchase a new laptop for $700 or more. I hope my intuition about this place is right, it normally is (like all the times I should have trusted it, despite what other people said, and walked out of other places when I didn't). My kids were off school Wednesday and Thursday for snow days and I had to work anyway so my schedule was totally blown away between getting all 3 of us ready to go to work instead of just me and I ended up not working out. I probably could have snuck something short in either of those two days but just didn't want the extra hassle (or so it seemed). I did about 15 or 20 minutes of shoveling very wet, heavy snow on Wednesday though (we ended up with about 8 inches) and towards the end felt my heart rate was up. I wish I would have had on my HRM to know for sure how it was though! :-) Today the kids went back to school and I had errands to run so I didn't go work in the classroom like I normally do on Fridays. I did, however, get my workout in and I'm really glad I did too! It was a cardio day so I did P90 Cardio 3-4 again. Monday it was feeling too hard for me. Today, with more energy, it was much better. Still not easy for me (I am not a cardio fiend at all) but it was a good, welcome challenge this time. I did much better on Ab Ripper 200 too. Still not finishing all the reps of all the crunches and no doubt using lousy form towards the end but I'm getting better. As part of my errands, I went into Play It Again Sports and found a set of 12 lb. dumbbells. I knew I was going to buy them no matter what and was thrilled when with tax the pair cost me less than $18!! When I realized that I thought hmm... maybe I should go look for 15s again too. I'd only seen one of those though and not a pair and I really didn't want to spend more money so I walked away very happy with my purchases. I might even use them today! I have some time and might do P90 Circuit today too because I am going to be very tight on time tomorrow (Brownie event at a planetarium almost an hour away from home all morning then going scrapbooking in the evening). I also might not and might just force myself to do it tomorrow afternoon. Will be checking email irregularly the next few days put wanted to post an update to keep myself accountable.
