Guest guest
His lack of understanding about other possibilities is what makes the ability of the Oregon Pain Managment Commission to suggest to the PA colleges that they need to start emphazing CAM 'as a primary treatment' so important. MDs, PAs and NPs need have to be taught to think this way. Up to this era, they haven't been allowed to think of any other solution but pharmaceutical or surgical. One of our suggested solutions was "instead of giving a chronic pain person a perscription for 30 tabs and sending them home' was to 'give them 10 tabs and a referral to a CAM practitioner'. Given that this is the coming 'push', the time to get to know your local ER doc is now. Head's up!
