Guest guest
Thanks a lot Steph, Sara -----Original Message----- From: Autism-Biomedical-Europe [mailto:Autism-Biomedical-Europe ] On Behalf Of stephaniesirr Sent: 16 January 2008 14:14 To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Subject: Sleep aids just wrote a long response and then lost it. 1. Epsom salts bath near to bedtime 2. very calm half an hour before bed 3. no reaction when (our Tom) gets out of bed but always assuming that he wants the toilet when he comes out of his actual room. that makes him scuttle back in pretty sharpish. He gets moreorless no eye contact from us after bed time, soft voices, nothing interesting, the day is done type stuff. 4. no shouting - he just laughs in our face. Or cries, which is worse. 5. try to keep yeast at bay, 3am giggling is the strongest indicator of yeast in our house 6. if we're reaching for the axe, melatonin, but this is rare 7. if he really wants to keep banging his palms onto his floor (which is gross motor stuff and really calms him) then we put in our ear plugs. 8. we let him sleep with his light on, which is very unhealthy I know but he wakes immediately if we turn it off most of the time 9. his room is very unstimulating, pale green walls, very plain. 10. Cranial osteopathy is always followed by a pretty good night's sleep 11. in light of Natasa's research - gin??? Heck, it worked for the ns. Perhaps better used on parents.
