Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I was a tad sore from Volume 1 - mostly in the lower body - so I figured, why push it w/ Volume 6 today - why not just do some cardio today and do V6 tomorrow - so that is what I did! Since I had been in my VHS collection yesteday, I spied my copy of Keli Ultimate Step Workout. This one is from 1993 - but it is still a good workout - especially if you prefer more basic step choreography - perfect for me this morning. Because Keli doesn't have any crazy turning and twisting combos or high impact (a few sections she does show an option for adding impact) I was able to do this one on an 8 inch step. I got a good workout in for sure. This one would also translate well to the BOSU - both because of the pace/choreography and because Keli and her backgrounders are using a smaller home-size step (instead of the larger, club size step) so you wouldn't ahve to do much to translate it to the BOSU. There are 3 segments - and Keli instructs a beginner to stop after segment 1, intermediate segment 2, and the advanced can do all 3 segments. After stepping and a brief cool down/stretch, Keli does some good ab work and then has a short relaxation segment. Keli is really pleasant in this workout. This one is a keeper in my collection, almost wish they had this one and her circuit training one on DVD - just in case something happens to the VHS tape! I attempted to do some yoga afterwards, but DD was up and I couldn't concentrate. She had one of her rough nights - I think she got up around 4 - but she fell asleep a little while ago - (which is good, she doesn't tolerate exhaustion well at all and she has her 5 year old doctor's appointment this afternoon - definately want her rested for that, especially if shots are involved!) Anyway, I would really like to get some yoga in tonight. Tomorrow is V6 - I think for the next two weeks I'm going to alternate cardio (and whatever) with the Classics. I may do it for the rest of August, but we'll see how I feel after I get through each classic once. Take care!Donna
