Guest guest
> > Can you have too much protein at one time? I don't exactly know the answer to this, but I think the philosophy of BFL is to keep a steady stream of small protein/carb combo in your body, to keep insulin and other body functions level and even. Also, to the person who is " making up " quantity for smaller meals... I don't think that's the point, again, I think you just move on to the next regular portion. I occasionally double up when I'm eating in a restaurant, and it winds up being a double portion, even when I am careful, but I am trying to keep that occasional.... not to be perfect, but to am at keeping my body lightly fed. Guest guest
Here's a good answer to the 20-30g of protein question. How much you can digest in one meal isn't something set in stone, but most women wouldn't have a need for more than that. http://www.femalemuscle.com/members/nutrition/question35.htm > > Can you have too much protein at one time? Guest guest
> but most women wouldn't have a need for more than that. Simpley put, 30grams protein x 4 calories per gram = 120 calories 120 calories x 6 meals = 720 calories. BFL being a 40/40/20 breakdown, means you's also be eating a comparable amount of carbs (720 calories) and 1/2 fats of (360 calories) for a total days worth of 1800 calories - so peoples milage may vary with a need to eat less than this. joni
Guest guest
I'm having a really hard time getting in all of my protein for the day based on 40/40/20. I am trying to have 167 grams of protein and carbs and 37 grams of fat. I've recently discovered that low fat cheeses barely have any protein! How do you manage to get in all of your protein? Thanks. Guest guest
Key lime shake? Protein popsicle? Sounds good to me. Care to share your recipes? Guest guest
The keylime shake is in the EfL book. My sister says the book is worth the price just for that shake recipe! 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 8 oz. milk (fatfree or lowfat) and add about a T. of frozen limeade mix. Yum! (I am pretty sure that's what's in the book - that is what I do!) For protein popsicles, which I use when I need something sweet and not as a meal, I've been mixing 2 cups of chocolate almond milk and 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder, pour into popsicle molds and freeze. > Key lime shake?
