Thursday: Power Walk for Weight Loss

I had a very frustrating start to my workout this morning but ended up getting it in anyway. I wanted to do Kathy 's Peak Fat Burning but had all kinds of problems with the dvd players. I wanted to do it upstairs where it is warmer but that one has a way of freezing and sure enough, that's what it did. At least it did it before I even started the workout instead of in the middle of the workout like usual! So next I tried it in my computer and for some reason, that wouldn't work either. Finally, I went downstairs to do it and kept trying to skip to the beginning of that workout instead of one of the others on the dvd but couldn't get it to where I wanted it (probably my problem, I don't know what I'm doing with dvds and I was frustrated) so I finally gave up on that workout and did her Power Walk for Weight Loss instead. Luckily, I had a long time frame available for a workout this morning so when I finally settle don this I decided at first I'd just do the 30 minute workout, then just kept adding on the other parts and ended up doing the entire 60 minutes of workouts on the dvd. That included the 10 minute core section and all the other standing abs work during the rest of the walking workout so I figure I got my abs work in with this and skipped doing Ab Ripper 200. I used hand weights during the sections she uses them even though I did P90 Sculpt yesterday and could really feel my arms (despite using light weights).

I had other "issues" today too. I hope my craziness inspires someone else to work through problems getting a workout in! During my workout my HRM band decided to slip down and for some unknown amount of time it wasn't recording my heart rate. When I figured it out I paused the tape to get the monitor band reset then had to ramp back up to where I was. I'm considering pinning it to my workout shirt (this has happened before and yes, I'm going to find out if I can get a smaller band)! Then at some point I had to pause the HRM recording and forgot to turn it back on! I still ended up burning just under 300 calories despite all the time it didn't record so I'm assuming I burned something a little over 300. That was okay but I also wasn't working really hard during this workout, like I expected to with Peak Fat Burning. It was fun though and I'm done for today.

Tomorrow is Sculpt but I don't want to work my arms again and it will be a very tight squeeze to do P90 Sculpt 1-2 (shorter than 3-4) or a Power Half Hour video so I just got done watching Tamilee Webb's I Want Those Buns (workout 1) to remind myself what, if any equipment it uses (none shown but she says you can use dumbbells to make it harder). I'm going to do this tomorrow morning (without dumbbells). It will give me a good lower body sculpting workout plus some cardio in a time frame that will work well for my schedule. If I have time in the afternoon I'll try to add on something else but I doubt I'll be able to. I've done this workout a couple of times but the last time was a long time ago and I remember it being VERY difficult. My quads were very weak but P90 especially has made them a lot stronger so while I still expect this to be a challenging 15 minutes I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do the whole thing without stopping for a break or skipping reps (which I did when I've done this one in the past). I'm looking forward to seeing how I've progressed!
