Guest guest
Hi, I've been a member of this group for several years, but have not been an active participant in nearly as long (though I've lurked & read throughout!)! I did my first BFL challenge in 2005, and lost 16%bf in just one challenge - I loved it, but between a 3 week vacation and a move across the country, I lost my way, and was never able to get back in the groove. I tried several times, but found that the 60lbs I gained(!!!!!!) had a detrimental effect on my ability to do the exercise portion of BFL. I've since lost 76lbs through dieting, and want to return to BFL to tighten, tone & look fabulous, but am still concerned about my ability to do the LBWO portion, as I have 2 knees that need to be replaced (genetic defect - they dislocate & grind constantly), and a ruptured L5-S1 disc. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for ham & quad work that is less strenuous on the knees & back? Squats & lunges are out, leg presses are out, deadlifts are questionable (the last time I did them I wound up in the ER). My legs are already well muscled (my knees give out before the muscle starts to feel a burn), so I don't really feel a burning need to create more muscle, but I also don't want to skip the LB portion of the program! Any suggestions for modification would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Shana
