Guest guest
So today was Tae Bo Live, Basic. I was looking forward to this one after Carolyn said the Live workouts have great music – and I realized that I already had a Live to do – duh! LOL And yes, the music is great! And I'm not sure if it was intended or not, but I liked that the music was louder than the voices! I enjoy the 8 count they do in the TB workouts, but it was nice to be able to crank up the TV for the music, and not feel like I was getting yelled at, heh. I really should hook the dvd/vcr up to my stereo for workouts like this! I felt good for this 34 minute workout, and got a good sweat! My HR stayed up, and I really think I'm catching on to the moves! Basically though, I just want to keep my HR up and not get injured – and if I have some fun along the way, all the better. I think I accomplished all three things today! I really like that this workout doesn't switch combos around too much. It's SO much easier for me to follow when we do the same move several times, then switch to the other side. And it's so helpful that he does the new moves at a slower pace to start, and then goes to tempo. I still need to work on keeping my abs tight the whole time, but I did well with this one, and didn't feel anything uncomfortable – so hopefully that's a good sign that I wasn't just flailing around. I like the intense blonde who does the counting. She's fun to watch. And there was Marge again, tearing up the workout as senior citizen. Go Marge! And I'm pretty sure I had better form that the 5-6 year old girl that they showed from time to time – so that's something, LOL! I followed this workout with 15 minutes of intervals on the elliptical. Not that I didn't have a good workout from TB, but I've been doing well with working out for at least 45 min on M-F and wanted to keep that up. Like 's calorie burn goal, my minutes worked out goal pushes me to keep going. I put in a Walk Strider video to follow on the elliptical. These workouts are made for the manual treadmill she apparently used to sell. It has an upper body thingy that sort of rotates. So she varies between using arms, not using arms, and doing faster intervals of power walking - with and without arms. It translates pretty well to the elliptical for me. Boy – 's music is WAY slow when you have just done TB Live, lol! Even during the interval parts of the workout, the pace seemed pretty tame. And I don't think the music pace actually increased for the intervals, either. That would have been nice. But, I pushed really hard during the intervals and was really, really sweating by the end. I fixed the HR pick up on my elliptical last week, so I was able to see that I got my HR way up during the intervals. I had to slow WAY down to get it to come back down at the end, lol. So a good cardio day for me! Tomorrow is more from BSS1 - Body Sculpt! Hope everyone is having a good week! Sara
