Guest guest
You know what really has helped me this time around?? (I've never finished a challenge before - heck never even made it half way!)? I feel like my head is clearer.? Like I'm really 'getting it'.? But the thing that has made a huge difference for me is this: Every time I want to do something that isn't 'authorized' I stop and ask myself - I mean REALLY ask myself - " do you really want this gummyworm more than you want to lose this weight? " ? " Is skipping this workout you have to do at 11 pm worth keeping the 60 lbs you hate so much? " ? The key is to make decisions - don't just let them happen to you.? When you 'need' to just grab a big mac in the drive thru because you're in a hurry or you're just starving and you want that chocolate so bad you can hardly stand it....? convince yourself that this one piece of chocolate is the last straw.? Tell yourself? this decision will make or break your challenge.? Think about it for 60 seconds - all you are looking forward to, what you want to look like.? Think about all the hard work you've put into this thing.? THEN decide if it's worth it.? If you're an 'all or nothing' kind of person like I am, this may really help you.? I'm not saying that you give up if you mess up.? NEVER give up, if you mess up!? The past is the past. It's done and you have to make your next decision for today, not yesterday.? But let me tell you, every time you stare that yummy sweet in the face and say 'no thank you.? you're aren't worth my happiness'? You will have so much more confidence to do it again the next time.? It will be ten times easier to say no way.? I know this seems like the simplest thing in the world, but often it IS the simplest things that get us through.? We often trivialize them and ignore them, telling ourselves these small things don't add up to much when in the end it's all the small things that mattered. So while one piece of chocolate may not matter today... all those 'little pieces' add up to make a huge difference.? And whatever you decide today about that 'unauthorized' activity, you will probably make the same decision when faced with it again.? So even if you're shaking all over when you do it - tell yourself " YOU DESERVE BETTER!!!! " ? You really do.? *hugs*? Sara O' ps.? i don't know what's up with all the ?s.? AOL keeps adding them after I hit send I guess. : P
Guest guest
good article.? oh yes, and drink LOTS of water.? the water will help keep you feeling full til your next meal.? if you think you're getting hungry and it's only been an hour, drink a huge glass of water and then see if you're still hungry.? chances are, you'll feel better. sara o' Re: WHAT TO DO???? maybe this can help you out http://woman21.blogspot.com/2008/06/9-tips-to-stop-food-cravings-and-help.html
