Guest guest
Hi, I guess the bright side of my set back is I'm re-discovering some older workouts that have been hidden in my VHIS closet for some time. Today as a warm-up light cardio I did the first section on Method Dynamic Cardio - which is a modern-dance based cardio routine divided into 3 sections. It is very light cardio for me, but it gives me my "video fix" and served as a good warm pu. Wheeler leads this one and does a good job. I've always enjoyed her workouts. Oddly,I don't have trouble following these "modern dance" style workouts, I run into trouble when following cardio dance workouts though - go figure. Some time I may do this whole tape as a light cardio day - should be fun. As with the other older Method workouts this one has the live music, which is nice. Afterwards I did Method Dynamic Toning - I forget the name of the lead - n? This one is divided into 3 segments - "Total Body" - which is kind of like a postural/alignment stretch session, "Upper Body" - PIlates-style upper body w/ weights and Abdominals - Pilates-style mat work. My favorite part was the mat work. The other sections there were some things that were questionable for my back - for instance, for some of the exercises she does have everyone in a "C" curve - which I didn't do - figure I'm trying to counter-act not encourage that posture. But overall, it went pretty well. Tomorrow is it back on the bike/treadmill for some cardio and then a shorter Pilates workout. The Pilates is definately helpful, I can feel a difference in the way my back feels after I do it - definately more aligned and rested/stretched. I had my second treatment today - wasn't quite as dramatic as the first, but I could tell that I can get into certain positions a lot easier now and I am finding that I wake up looser in the morning than before, so my back tightness from during the day does seem to be releasing more at night. Oh well - sorry to ramble. I still miss my regular exercise DVDs, but I really want this to work! Take care, Donna
