Guest guest
Hi, I actually did a mid-day workout today - shock of shocks! I did a 30 min walk on the TM - (I was going to walk outside, but at the time it looked creepy outdoors, but, it got nice again shortly after I finished up on the TM!) I walked at a brisk pace and broke a little sweat - not like when I do my running intervals - but I think I shouldn't do them every day....so I walked at mostly a 4.3 - 4.7 mph pace. Any faster than 4.7 mph and I feel that I need to run.....That pace is good for me for a nice brisk walk though! After my walk, I had time for a one hour Pilates session w/ Kries. I did Method Target Specifics which is an "older" workout - late 90's early 2000's.....it has 4 segments - abs (mostly traditional mat work here), arms (pilates style upper body - light weights in a controlled fashion - I really can feel it when I focus), hips (a blend of Pilates and Ballet exercises), Thighs (a blend of yoga, ballet and Pilates exercises). this one is probably not best for a beginner as there is little instruction given, also, it is somewhat disjointed since it looks to be edited from TV shows ( says "we'll be right back" often!) It isn't bad, but there is no "flow" between the segments - although there is "flow" within the segments, if that makes sense? The hip and thigh work didn't seem overly challenging, but a few hours later, I feel it. Tomorrow I'll probably do a walk (not sure which one yet - maybe her 3 Mile walk from the Walk Slim series) and, I was thinking of trying the toning workout (w/ the band) from her Walk Slim Series. It is probably too easy for me, but I previewed it a little bit during "housework max" this afternoon, and, if nothing else, it looks pleasant. I have a heavy band so perhaps I can make it challenging? My back is still hanging in there - although my left hamstring is still really tight - I'm going to mention it tomorrow at my appointment. I think my biggest thing to remember is to be careful and not over-do it, it seems as my back feels better I become more careless about posture (especially when doing housework, although then, I am usually just rushing to get it done b/c I saved it for the last minute!) I do notice my back recovers better though - a good night's sleep and I'm good the next morning. But, as my chiro mentioned, the point is not to do things w/ bad form! Oh well - hope everyone has a nice evening!Donna
