Guest guest
Hi, Today I did a library borrow - Rael Pilates System 27 - this one is more advanced and longer than System 17. In System 17 he shows more modified versions of the exercises, in this one, generally the "full" version is demonstrated (except for a few...) but, it is good to have done the prior DVD so you would know how to modify if need be. This one contains many of the same exercises as "17" (in fact, probably all 17 are done again, along with an additional 10). I found this one to be very challenging - I think he does more reps than in other Pilates workouts. I felt that this one was fairly well balanced between back and ab work - legs and hips were also worked. Overall, a good Pilates routine, if a bit above my level at the moment. Tomorrow I'm going to do some cardio - I'm thinking I may give Charlene another try and do another one of her low impact routines. I'm also itching a bit to try some step. And, I would like to "graduate" soon to doing some different strength exercises. I guess I just need to pace myself. Tomorrow I'll probably add on some yoga or stretching to my Charlene routine. Come to think of it, Charlene's strength workouts would probably be excellent to get me into doing more strength training - her form and focus is really good and there is almost a rehab-like quality to her work since she is very focused on good form and alignment. Take care! Donna
