Hi Everyone,

For the last two weeks in March I'm doing to do the

Women's Health and Fitness Network FitPrime and

Kickbutt workouts. These are the ones that

Benson (one of the original creators of the FIRM

workouts) put together a few years ago. I sort of

look at the FitPrimes as Firm-lite with a dash of

functional fitness - the Kickbutt workouts are a bit

more challenging but also have a dash of functional

fitness thrown in. I do like this series - they

aren't killer level, but overall good workouts,

especially if you really follow the form cues and work

the muscles they tell you to. I figure they would be

good for me to do before I start the unofficial STS

rotation in April. I actually have no plans on

ordering the official STS workouts - too pricey - and

I would rather hold out for P90X, P90 Masters and

ChaLEAN extreme. But, I think I'll enjoy this

rotation using the workouts I already have - although

I'm not 100% sure what to do for the " heavy " cycle - I

wonder if Amy's Slo Mo would be good there? (Anyone

know?)

Yesterday I did Metaboost with Heidi Tanner - a good

light-ish circuit workout - mostly weights, a little

cardio.

Today I did FlexPosture w/ Tamela Hastie - this one is

really hard to describe - it is sort of Pilates, sort

of yoga, and sort of FIRM all tied into one. I was

never really sure what to make of this one. But it is

definately good for a change of pace! Even the yoga

and Pilates is not " traditional " stuff in this one.

Today I also did a virgin add-on - the Firm's Cardio

Inferno by Sue Mi . This one is 30 minutes and

pretty much what you would expect from a FIRM cardio

routine - you will be using weights. In this one

there are 4 combos - two done with weights, two done

without. The first weighted section is more of an

upper body focus, the second weighted section is more

of a lower body focus. This one is a " hare " so you

would want to pick up light weights - 3's and 5's and

use the weights mostly to pick up the cardio

intensity. The non-weighted aerobics are mixed

impact/athletic style choreography. Each of the 4

combos " take it from the top " and teach add-on style.

It isn't too bad though b/c once you are done with a

combo you move on to something else. I did work up a

decent sweat in 30 minutes, though.

Tomorrow I'm doing FitPrime Pump with Heidi Tanner -

this one, as I recall, is more intense than Metaboost.

These are definately fun workouts - the production

quality is excellent, although the set is a little

over the top with the statues and the flaming bowls!

:)

Take care!

Donna
