Guest guest
, I am so sorry about Lillyanna.... You will love Erie Shriners! The people are wonderful! Also close to Erie is the University of Rochester in Rochester New York. Dr. is there and he is very experiened with scoli and has done many serial casts. If you want his info., I will e-mail it to you. Steph Ritchie wrote: I can understand this feeling. My foster-adopt daughter Lillyanna has had multiple medical problems and surgeries since her birth. NO ONE said anything about scoliosis to me. She came to me in April of 2007 as my medically fragile foster child. In all the previous Doctor's assesment's no where was scoliosis mentioned. Even sine then I have had her to 6-8 specialist for various things. Again no mention. Plus to add insult...I am an RN and did not notice anything, except a strange way she holds her arm and hand. We also have PT and OT once a week. Now I have been told that she has a very life threatenting form and will not live past 4 years of age. So I feel guilty and angery. BUT....I am so thankful to have found this web site. I will do whatever it takes to give her the best possible chance. Thanks to all that have responded to my posts. I will be calling Shriner's in Erie PA tomorrow to see if they will see her. I will try to attach a picture of Lillyanna (her adopted name). Re: Steph & Noelle Steph, This exact situation has happened so many times. I dont mean to minimize Noelle's situation, but this happens to infants throughout the world on daily basis. Thanks goodness, you have done your research on Dr. Mehtas Early Treatment Method and you will make sure that your darling girl has the best care, possible. I am sorry that you and your precious girl must go through this. Its not easy, but very well worth it. Have you decided where she will have her POP jackets applied? Sorry, if I missed that post. Just let us know what we can do to help. About being pissed off......Dont let it get the best of you. I say this out of personal experience. While I know being " pissed off " has helped my daughter get proper care, helped ISOP grow, etc.......I knew that channeling the anger into being proactive/productiv e would be the only way to save my daughter. I just wanted to share that because I have been angry about my daughters situation for 9.5 yrs, and just only recently figured out that the anger is affecting my health and will kill me, if I dont figure out a better way to deal with it. Anger is toxic to me. I cant be angry anymore. Noelle will get Early Treatment for her scoliosis because of you, and the fear you have now, will be a distant memory. Sorry, about rambling. No one is awake here at my brothers house in SLC, and I feel like talking. Let us know what happens. HRH > > Hi everyone.... We just got some bad news for Noelle.... Her scoli has worsened and it looks like we're going to have to go through with casting.... My heart is just breaking! It's been a while since I've signed on... It's been super crazy here.... Everyone has been sick or in the hospital for something or other.... But, just to refresh, Noelle went to Erie Shriners last Nov. and her scoli had reduced, so Dr. advised us to wait 3 months and re-take the x-rays again to see how she did before casting her.... I feel teased and I'm pissed off!!!! Steph > > ------------ --------- --------- --- > Never miss a thing.
