Guest guest
I took to his first follow up Appointment 3 weeks post op (expansion and screws replaced with S clamps in pelvis) and the left S clamp has migrated almost right through his pelvis.?After only 3 WEEKS!!!!!? I am shocked beyond belief...I thought he was doing so great. The doctor wants to remove bottom half of left VEPTR and fill pelvic bone with bone " putty " wait for the bone to heal (6 months) and retry some sort of pelvic attachment. He is concerned that since 's bones are so soft, any kind of spinal attachment could be more dangerous. We are also having a brace made for extra support while he only has the one VEPTR.... Has anyone else gone through this? What should our next step be? Is spinal bone stronger then pelvic bone? Would VEPTR II be a good option ? Any suggestions or thoughts would be so helpful. Thanks, Connie I
