Guest guest
" The Brain that Changes Itself " by Norman Doidge, MD I have just read this book over the past 2 days. I could NOT put it down. Its about the neuroplasticity of the brain and the stories in this book will dispel anything any doctor has every told you about the brain not being able to " right " itself after injury. re: autism, it is so incredibly inspiring and he talks at length about autism. Its brand new, just published and you can check out his website to learn more at www.normandoidge.com I am absolutely inspired by this new book - get it cheap on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brain-That-Changes-Itself- Frontiers/dp/0143113100/ref=pd_bbs_1? ie=UTF8 & s=books & qid=1207053244 & sr=8-1 costs less than a fiver. He talks of a woman who had no vestibular sense whatsever, she lost her sense of balance completely after taking antibiotics. her life was a misery. there was no hope. then she got wired into an apparatus that replaced her vestibular sense and after only 20 minutes, her senses came back. the book is about re-teaching the brain, all is possible. incredible!!
