After all the concerns and troubles we were going through, i wanted to share Hadley's updates and the relief of information. I talked to about what the on-call nurse said about liver damage, checking other organs out, etc. 's response was shocked! She said Mehta casting should not cause any liver damage or any organ damage at all. She informed us that Yes Dr Sturm focuses on the spine, but if something were to show up in the xray that was not right with her organs, that he would notice it and let us know. So, he's not just casting with no idea of what he's doing to her organs. You were all right on with the Mehta casting which is very reassuring. Unfortanetely we were just put into a panic with what was told to us, but

apparently she didn't really know. Also, i asked about the topic of putting holes in the back. told me that at first when Dr Sturm was trained, he always put the holes in the back, but now he does it by case by case if needed. That puzzles me a little bit and worries me especially after hearing what you all say that Dr's need to follow Dr. Mehtas guidelines. So, i questioned what Hadley's rotation was and were going to go from there. I suggested that id like the hole in the back and said Dr Sturm would do that if we talked to him. I'm assuming he didn't do it because maybe her rotation is not bad if at all any because that is the purpose of the hole in the back(i think). But i think Id still feel better having the hole exactly as Dr Mehta would do even if there is no rotation. A positive though is that I asked if Dr. Sturm deals with the rotation and the straightening and said, absolutely. So, thats where were at now.

Im waiting to hear what her rotation is and ill probably be asking you guys whether its good or bad.We might possibly go for a 3rd opinion just to be sure. Does anybody know how I would just send hadley's xrays to another dr rather than going? And we don't have any digital xrays. We had her first ones from Children's Hospital of Wi, but then Shriners wanted them so we gave them to them. Now all we have is a couple copies of her newest ones from Shriners. But their the actual xrays, not a disc.Oh, also, as far as the cast being too tight, were going to try to wait until June 25th as we are scheduled. Hadley seems fine so far. She gave us a bit of a scare, but were ok now. said to really watch if she doesn't poop. Then we might have problems and might have to get it off sooner. The longer, the better... I think. So, in the mean time, Hadley's diaper leaked and she peed all the way up her back. I untaped her, washed as best and as far up as i

could and retaped her. She still is carrying the smell with her a little bit, but half as bad. Any suggestions on how to get rid of that? We only have a couple wks so at least thats good, but were going to see our in laws that we don't see all that often on Saturday so i don't want her stinkin too bad :)Thanks for all your cares and concerns!Shauna>> From: Kauffunger <slguerra710@ yahoo.com>> Subject: [infantile_scoliosi s] -Aetna> To: infantile_scoliosis @yahoogroups. com> Date: Tuesday, June 10, 2008, 2:28 PM>> Hi ,>> I have a call into Dr. office and am waiting to hear back from> about the billing...
