I wouldn't sell to a jeweller. He might give you a valuation. The Lady

magazine might be a possible. You probably need to find out about the

necklace, where purchased, what type of pearls, how many of them and

likely value. Jewellers here tend to be chains selling rubbish. You need

a private sale to get best value.

Yuck. Sorry I just realized this may look like I'm trying to sell

something on the list. I'm not. Just trying to get some advice if

anyone has any experience with this.

However

you sell it, I think you should sell it with a proper evaluation. Otherwise you’ll

be told it’s worth a lot less. SARA

Anita,

now you're in the UK you might be able to get funding for biomed (up to

£2K per year) from the Caudwell Trust.

Margaret

PS if you are going to sell get a written signed valuation from a top

jeweller. Is it real pearls or cultured?

My mother used to deal in antiques etc. She would go to a a couple of

auctioneers to get an evaluation. Christies and Sothebys are of course

the tops and then there is one that start with " B " but I cannot remember

the name ( Where is that choline I ordered ??arghh) Maybe Boltons or

something like that. Check your local phone book for branches of big

aution companies.
