Guest guest
Marty, this is very interesting.. I was also very sick as a kid. On average, I missed at least 23 days of school a year, and that was pushing to go to school and not missing a day. I'd get sick in the afternoon, have high fevers and then be better the next day or the following day. So nobody, not even the doctor thought much of it. I would get sick like that in the summer too. I had Urinary Tract Infections starting when I was two, Ear infections from when I was four months old and tonsils infected all the time. They took my tonsils out the first time when I was 5 and put in tubes, but they grew back, had them out again when I was 14, then they grew back again. Had them out one more time at 18, then it seemed I got sick in other ways. Like Endometriosis. I had my first surgery for that when I was 19, then 14 more to follow from the time I was 22 until 30 when I had a hysterectomy with both ovaries removed.. in that time frame they had to remove my gallbalder because of my endo being so bad. Then about two months after the last surgery my appendix, because of more endometriosis that was there.. When I was 9 I had a bone spur on my big two - very odd. And both shoulders had bursitis by the time I was 13 - but not one doctor could put the picture together that I had stills (or JRA). odd - they probably could now). especially because of all the ear infections, uti's, bursitis in shoulders, some in knees, bone spurs, fevers, etc. but they didn't have the same knowledge level. then. Anyway, I find it very interesting that you also had issues as a child - are there others that were also like this as a child. Basiclly just though of as being scene as more vunerable to catch things then your siblings, etc. I am curious because I think this is a clue to stills.
