Guest guest
I had to laugh when I read this. It sounds like something I would do, if I had a CI. I have been wearing glasses for 35 years now and left for work about a month ago without them. Of course, I didn't get very far, I am VERY nearsighted. lol > > Had your CI on for hours and then realize it's not turned on? I was mesmerized with watching them. then we left and i got in the car and said " Odd the Geese were awful quiet and the birds were songless today " then reached up and turned on my CI. Grrrrr this ahs happened about 3 times. >
Guest guest
Well, not yet.  Thanks for sharing your experience though...it is good to laugh at oneself, and it is good to know you are not alone in making gaffs like this. Prior to my CI I remember a time I headed out the door for work, only to realize that I couldn't hear anything outside, and realized I forgotten to put my hearing aid in. Nowadays, I seem to notice how " off " my hearing is when I don't have my CI turned on, and then I again notice how " off " my hearing is when I don't have my HA turned up to maximum volume allowed so that both sides are balanced. There was one time when I did put my CI on, but when I went to turn it on a few minutes later, nothing happened. When I took it off to check it over, I saw that I forgotten to put the battery in. I do not look forward to the day when I learn that my HA side is losing more hearing...but I know that all won't be lost now that we have CIs to fall back on for continued hearing. I just don't look forward to having to adjust to different hearing when I have to go bilateral.  ________________________________ From: Deborah <deborah_anne419@...> Sent: Sat, August 7, 2010 6:11:22 PM Subject: Have you ever...  Had your CI on for hours and then realize it's not turned on?
