Guest guest
Hi Vivi, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've been in Kerrville with my mother and just got back home this afternoon. I didnt have any trouble getting the Rituxan approved with my insurance and as far as my part went it was financially better than any other drug I've been on. My part was only $60....however the whole thing was about $6,000. It just depends on your insurance and I guess a bunch of other stuff. As for the difference between the injectables and the infusion...you have to go to an infusion center or a Dr's office that does infusions and it's like an IV...it takes 4 or 5 hours. An injection is a shot. It took 2 1/2 months for me to tell the difference...I'm due for my next infusion in January and I can already feel it wearing off. Although that could also be because of the amount of stress I'm under right now. It's hard to tell sometimes you know. But I had a really good 2 months or so. I can only guess your RD is getting you off the other drugs because they aren't working...or she wants to see what does work by elimination. From your previous discriptions, she sounds like a good one. I sure hope you get approved pm the Rituxan and it works for you! Re: QUESTION About Rituxan() Hi , The Lab called me today to get muy permision to contact the insurance to see if they'll pay. Can I ask how expensive is It & did you have too much trouble to get it aproved?. Also, what's the diference betwen the injectables & the Infusion?. Do you remember how long after you had it did you get to feel the efects? I wonder why she's taking me off the other meds. ( I also was taking MTX & Sulfa... & Pred. ) I'm scared to get off all of them. so I reduced this week. ( Hopefully I'll hear from them by next) but the Rd. wanted to wait to Jan to see me. Thanks a lot. Huggs Vivien **************Make your life easier with all your friends, email, and favorite sites in one place. Try it now.
