Guest guest
We had dropped my prednisone to the point that I've been suffering terrible joint pain in my feet, ankles, knees, and hips, which were new places for me. And my hands, neck, and jaw had been getting more painful. So my doctor put my prednisone back up again a month ago, and put me on MTX as well. I had hoped that going back up again with the prednisone would quickly take away the foot and leg pain, but it didn't. But I think the MTX is finally working because suddenly today (after my 4th week) I could walk with a lot less pain. And here it is at 10pm, and my hands are sore, but not unbearably so. I'm crediting the MTX, since I was told (and read here quite a few times) that it usually takes up to 6 weeks before it starts to work. I'd LOVE to get back to where I was at about 8 weeks ago when I was stiff but basically pain-free... I'm hoping the MTX will get me to that point again. They'll probably ease Mike off the prednisone at some point as well (he's still on it, right?)... he might not have a problem at all. Here's hoping! Guest guest
Hi there. It's 6:30 p.m. where we are (, BC) Mike's hands swell up and I think he is sore in many places...probably the wrists more than other places. Personally I am more worried about his internal organs as his imune system seems to be attacking his organs. His heart...lungs, liver etc. what dose of prednisone are you now on? Mike is 10 one day and 7 the next...and back to 10 and then 7 etc etc Re: Mike We had dropped my prednisone to the point that I've been suffering terrible joint pain in my feet, ankles, knees, and hips, which were new places for me. Guest guest
Hi I am glad your organs are sorting themselves out. Great! Mike and Cath don't yet have any children but have been trying for almost 2 years now. You're sure right about the crazy symptoms. While everyone has something in common...it seems that thing is " frustration " . Frustration not knowing what is going to happen next and/or why it is happening! Why would a body simply turn on itself without any warning? How can the body, which is so well designed seem to have such a flaw? I have a close feeling for everyone with Stills. It (nor do the persons afflicted with it) get the recognition and/or support that is needed. Thank God for this group! -----
