Guest guest
Hi Shauna, You need Modge Podge, Tacky Glue, a paint brush, and pieces of cotton fabric. You should be able to purchase all of these items at a craft store. I would always cut the fabric into 2/3 inch circles. Then, I would apply a couple drops of Tacky Glue to the back of the cotton circles and place on the cast/jacket. The Modge Podge can be brushed over the material and adheres the fabric securely, and dries fairly fast. You can see an example of one of Olivias Christmas casts in the photo section of this group. She wore casts as an older child and really enjoyed making her casts into masterpieces of art. HRH How to decorate the cast I was just reading a post about taping a cast and actually learned a lot I didnt know. I was told not to use Duct tape because it wouldnt come off without being sticky. Does anybody have experience wiht Duct tape? I was also told I could use hockey tape if I ran out of the tape they gave me. Somebody mentioned HP tape. Is that the tape they give you or is that other tape? I would like to decorate my daughter and make her cast pretty because her 1st birthday is this wkd and she's having her birtthday party on Saturday. Ive been looking everywhere for the pink hocky tape, but havent had any luck with anything. If anybody has any advice for decorating or pictures, Id love to hear it and see them! I saw the decorating kit for the fist time that I did not know about. How do you use fabric on a cast? I would get it and still might, but i dont think ill have it in time to decorate her for her birthday! Thanks Shauna Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
We have used many types of tape on our daughter's various casts (7) but had the best luck with the pink/orange Hy-tape. If you google "Hy-Tape" you can order it on -line from various places or we have found it locally at medical supply stores. The best bet (and cheapest) is to get an extra roll from the casting team at the hospital. Best of luck! Guest guest
Our ped gave us some foam tape that worked well for around the edge of the cast. Dylan's cast was rubbing on one spot on his hip and this tape helped. It is very squishy and soft. I think this is very similar to what they gave us: http://www.vitalitymedical.com/Product/3M-Microfoam-Conformable-Foam-Elastic-Tape-15281.html?GCID=C13064x004 [infantile_scoliosi s] How to decorate the cast I was just reading a post about taping a cast and actually learned a lot I didnt know.
