Guest guest
ABSOLUTELY FREAKING INCREDIBLE. Makes you realise the enormity of parental responsibility regarding medical care. Well done for advocating so thoroughly on your son's behalf. Darla x Well, after not sleeping all night worrying about my son getting a GA, i was so distracted that i did not realise his nose had stopped smelling by the time we got to the hospital. Regardless, however, we waited 3 hours to see the ENT and anaesthetist.Thankfully, THANK GOD, i brought my son's blood tests which we have always had done privately. I was very worried they would ask questions about "why are u having your sons bloods done, etc). But the ENT looked at them and said there is no way my boy could have gotten a gen. anaes because of his high liver enzymes shown on the tests and other anomolies. AS it happens, during his examination of my boy he saw that the offensive object was gone, !! All my prayers were answered. Here is the lesson i learned - despite the fact my boy had a GA last year to have teeth removed, and developed severe jaundice, the hospital would have had no qualms in giving him another GA this time, EXCEPT for the fact that i showed them his private blood tests. God knows what would have happened to my wee fella if they had injected that crap into him with his liver probs.they asked what i did about the jaundice last year and i told them how the dentistry department denied that the jaundice had anything to do the drugs (yeah right) He had never had jaundice before and he developed it 8 hours after the drugs. Also told him how it was documented with the GP and he did nothing. So the good thing is that a brand new children's endocrinologist has moved locally and we have an appointment to see him. He has been furnished with our tests and will hopefully shed some experienced light on what is going on with our son. Dont get me wrong, i dont have a lot of faith in the mainstream medical establishment about them being able to help our boy, but his probs have been noted now and hopefully some free investigations. (no doubt push more drugs on us though)another lesson I learned, - our boys problems NEVER would have been noted or taken seriously had we not done our private tests. Imagine me trying to explain in my non- medical jargon that our boy has methylation and sulphation and liver detox probs without evidence? They never would have taken me seriously. If i had been an unsuspecting or trusting mom, they could have injected him with the drugs and we would never be the wiser. I am so ready for filling in this new "expert" on our boy. The ENT was a bit shocked, and so he should be. There could have been a potential serious incident without our test evidence. Makes me ill thinking about it. shocking
