Guest guest
, I wish I lived near you. I'd buy some off you. Can you sell it to someone legally. Debbie > > Okay our prayers have been answered. Wayne got the surge milker up and running this week. It was a shaky start yesterday and he needed to get used to it and so did Porkchop. Today it's going gang busters. We got more than 2 gallons out of only 2 quarters tonight!!!! What in the heck am I going to do with all this milk??????????? We've been making butter and freezing it all week. I'll need to get more containers for that. I made two batches of yogurt (the first one failed miserably) haven't tasted the second yet. Eventually I want to make sour cream, cool whip, cheese?????? Help!!!! give me some direction please. I have 4 1/2 gallons of milk in my fridge right now that I have no idea what to do with :-) Oh, but it SOOOO good tasting - loving it!!!!!!!!! > > Help??, > >
Guest guest
Wow, , I am so envious that you have a surge milker. Good for you! We have goats and are milking 3 right now. I wish I knew of a cheap milker for goats. Anyway, we have just started making cheese with our extra milk. There are some really easy recipes from this website. Hope this helps. http://biology.clc.uc.edu/fankhauser/Cheese/Cheese_course/Cheese_course.htm Jackie ps. where do you live?
Guest guest
I envy your surge milker. I wish I could have one. I have a solar electric system at the barn that is too weak to run a surge milker, and my old hands hurt too much to milk. Every time I'm forced to watch one of my milk cows dry up, it hurts. Meanwhile, I'm drinking store-bought milk while good A2 milk goes to waste. Does anyone have a 12V surge milker? Guest guest
Oh, that is sad. We used our Gov't stimulus check to buy it :-) Have you checked ebay or Hamby's Dairy on line for a 12V milker? Guest guest
here's a few ideas: cheeses, pudding, ice cream, custards, cream cheese, cottage cheese, rice pudding; get some chickens and mix it with their dry feed; let sit for 12 hours to ferment, our birds love it. get a couple baby pigs (for eating) slop some in their troughs. they like it too. Do you have a bull calf? you could bottle fed it (fun for the kids). ro Too much milk :-) Okay our prayers have been answered. Wayne got the surge milker up and running this week.
