Guest guest
Hi , Moleskin is like a type of soft bandage that the hospital may have used to petal Larissa's cast.... It sort of looks like a browny-beige color. You can buy it in a drugstore, but I get mine from a medical supply store where I can buy a whole canister of it. You use it to soften the edges of the cast. Sometimes the moleskin gets wet or dirty and you have to take the old moleskin off and put on some new pieces. It will get easier. Noelle is 4 weeks into her first cast and she gets around like she isn't even wearing it! Hope this helped... Steph vanessa vega wrote: Hi Everyone, Thank you all for replying. Larissa has been in her 1st cast for less than a week. She has adjusted well. I think dad and I are having a harder time adjusting. We just hate to see her uncomfortable. I did ask about the tape and I got some great advise, thank you. Now my other questions, what is moleskin? where do I get it? where to I put it? I'm thankful for the ISOP because the medical staff did not fully explain the entire cast care and maintenance. Does anyone know of a product that pulls out moisture, bacteria, and smell from the cast? Something like "Fabreze" claims to do. I'd appreciate the feedback. Thanks Again, mom to Larissa (4 years old) With Windows Live for mobile, your contacts travel with you. Connect on the go. Guest guest
Hi ,When my son was in a cast and had a urine smell I used Odor Eaters. The ones you put in shoes. I just cut into smaller pieces and placed in different areas of the cast. Of course you would not want it to touch the skin......at least I didn't. I would change it out daily. It seemed to help some. When he had that urine smell I was ready to try anything.Did you figure out about the moleskin? How is she doing now?Let us know if you have any other questions.Take care,TashaMommy of twin boys- and 3 years oldFort Worth, Texas is currently in a brace-8 degrees out of brace!!vanessa vega wrote: Hi Everyone, Thank you all for replying.
