Guest guest
Hi , I recommend sending films/your child's info via Fed-Ex, and beginning dialogue with a Mehta trained doc prior to their arrival. If you don't mind me asking, in which state do you live? Have you been able to read Dr. Mehta's article in the Journal of Bone & Joint, or view " A New Direction " DVD? If not, go to the FILES section of this group for the article " Growth as a corrective force in the early Treatment of progressive infantile scoliosis, " and e-mail me direct at heather@... for the DVD. Both of these items will help you to better understand the principles of Dr. Mehta's Early Treatment Method. Sincerely, HRH () Re: Are there any exercises, stretches that help with infantile scoliosis? , How does the process of sending your x-rays to a Mehta-trained doctor work? Do you mail them normal post office? Is there a fee for consultation to let you know if they could help you? Where did you become so informed on the Mehta method? Thanks for all of your help. Re: Are there any exercises, stretches that help with infantile scoliosis? I'm not a doctor by any means, but Noelle's docs have pretty much all agreed that any kind of PT does not help the scoliosis itself in infants... It can help with other muscular issues, like torticollis, etc. Has his RVAD been measured and is there any rotation in the spine? 13 degrees is pretty low and I know that Dr. said we would begin bracing Noelle once she was under 10 degrees, which he considers to medically insignificant. Has any doc suggested a brace yet? Does he have any trouble with his motor skills or any discomfort? You can also send a copy of his most recent x-ray to one of the Mehta-trained docs for an evaluation.. .. They would call you with their suggestions. A lot of us have sent docs our x-rays first because most of us don't live near these very special doctors and they know that we travel quite a distance to see them. Good luck! valpoind <valpoindyahoo (DOT) com> wrote: My son was diagnosed at 3 yo. We've been through the MRI and found out it was idiopathic. It started at 11 degrees at stayed there for a year and now the curve is at 13 degrees. I'm searching for any noninvasive methods that could help him. He is now 5 years old. There is not a scoliosis center in our area. ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ __
Guest guest
Hi , I live near Colmbia, SC which is near Greenville, SC and Charlotte, NC and Raleigh, NC. I see that Dr. P. Stasikelis is at Shriners Hospital in Greenville, SC. That's only about 2 hours away from here. I will try to get those 2 articles. Thanks for the suggestion. I thought I saw an email that you were looking for grants. You might want to check out nonprofitexpert.com. My brother-in-law runs this website and helps non-profits find out about grants for free. His name is Minges and he would be glad to help out. I'll get in touch with you about the video. Guest guest
Gail bless her little heart. I hope this works for you. Medicine is one of our biggest hurdles. The hospital seems to do this to kids that are there a lot. We have tried everything for Devyn so I really hope this works for you. Rochelle mom to Devyn 2 and 1/2yrs Infantile Scoliosis, Chiari1 > > Well, we have been home for a day. slept with me last night and she was very wiggly trying to get comfortable and of course she won't take any pain med. Actually, she won't take any meds at all unless it is her gummi vitamins. > & nbsp; > I did take the script for the Tylenol with Codeine to be filled and talked with the pharmacist about it and her. He suggested flavoring it - which I knew they could do, but I wasn't sure how well it would work with codeine. He pulled out the formula book and we both re- tasted the codeine - since we have both had it before & nbsp;(just like a wine tasting! lol) and we agreed it had kind of an orange taste. So after looking at the recipe book for the formulas and talking we decided to go with a citrus punch flavor and a I bought some Sunny D to give it to her in. When I got back to the pharmacy and he had it ready - I kid you not, the stuff smelled just like Sunny D! Will this work? Will Gail be able to smuggle pain reliever into 's juice? Will not find it there? PLEASE PRAY this works! The child needs some relief! > & nbsp; > Thanks! > > > Gail > & nbsp; > June is National Scoliosis Awareness Month! > Please visit http://www.scoliosis.org/ for more information. > ******************************************************************** > Mom to , 11/28/98 - ADHD/ODD/SID > and , 02/02/02 - Congenital Scoliosis, VATER Association (vertebral and renal anomalies), Torticollis, Klippel Feil Syndrome, Fused Ribs, First VEPTR Recipient at Cincinnati Children's Hospital 3/21/05, VEPTR Expansions: 11/05, 04/20/06 & amp; 6/12/08; Mole (Spitz Nevus) removal: 11/26/07 & amp; 2/11/08 >
Guest guest
Very well said a!Darcy Ms. Since you're blue let me take a moment to tell you something: We have never met yet, but we've " known " each other online for years...and through those years you have been an inspiration to me. You are one strong tough cookie and the workouts you do are amazing, but what is more amazing is your fearless-ness or at least what I perceive as your comfort level with being yourself. I want to be just like you. A proud, strong woman who can kick butt, take names and shine like a superstar. Weak women find partners easily, but they are never truly happy. Strong women take a while longer, because they've learned to have higher standards while they were standing on their own two feet.
