GOOD MORNING

My face in the mirror Isn't wrinkled or drawn.

My house isn't dirty. The cobwebs are gone.

My garden looks lovely And so does my lawn.

I think I might never Put my glasses back on!

It's a delayed response, but hi Marge and Welcome! You'll find a lot of

caring people in this group, as well as a lot of good information on RA.

Like you, I try to focus on the remission times, and am getting my life back

slowly but surely with the meds. Some, like Vicodin, I don't like having to

take. But it does enable me to live a fuller life when I really need it.

Wishing you a pain free day!

Hugs,

Carol (in FL)

Hi Sheree...I started Remicade last winter after Enbrel proved not to

work well for me. I felt the Remicade helping within hours of my first

infusion...my chubby swollen fingers began to thin down and by the 2nd

day I could make a fist with all my fingers except the two index

fingers...first time in several years. The morning stiffness, most days,

is not a big problem right now. My index fingers are better, but not as

better as everything else...why, I don't know.

I've never had a negative reaction from Remicade. However, my my 4th

infusion seemed to stop working at about 6 1/2 weeks, so I'm now on a 7

week cycle, rather than 8.

I have stubborn, rolling veins, but haven't had a problem with the

infusion except this last time. They did finally get it, but I felt

like a pin cushion. But I had had surgery just two weeks before and my

body was greatly fatigued...maybe that played into it, I don't know.

All in all, it has been a very positive experience for me.

Hugs of Hope...

Tess

Hi Tess, my rheumy is suggesting I switch from meth to remicade...she says

it will enhance my quality of life...I am so much better then I was pre-meth

that I wonder if I should save the remicade for later in life when flare ups

are worse...is there anything to switch to from remicade? I still have pain

and stiffness; but I am moving compared to a year ago. Will the remicade

prevent the further debillitation if I can tolerate where Iam now? I know

what you mean about feeling like a pin cushion...even the frequent blood

work proves a challenge to the best lab tech...the fatigue is certainly an

issue, perhaps remicade would be a better option? Side effects, per the

rheumy is hair loss but most negatively is staying out of the sun...do you

find that to be true, thanks for any input as I make the decision to switch

meth to remicade....marge

Hi Marge...I don't know that there's anything beyond Remicade at this

moment, but I know they are working on other remedies. For me, I have

had no side effects from Remicade...I honestly saw it work positively in

the first twenty-four hours. My Rheummy has me on both methotrexate &

Remicade. I have very little deteriation showing up in my hand

xrays...but the doctors I've had since 98 have been aggresive in their

treatment.

I hope & pray you make the BEST decision for you and have wonderful

results. I, myself, would not wait & keep the possibility of Remicade

in reserve for later down the road. With Remicade, you may not need

something stronger down the road, and you may avoid deteriation. Just

my thoughts!

Love & Hugs...

Tess
