Guest guest
Hi...I've spent the last 2 days napping and snoozing and resting. My tongue, throat & nose are all still swollen, but the pain is down a good 50%. I'm experimenting with bites of food...somethings don't work at all, but some do, so there's progress. The choking hasn't happened in 2 days now, and the coughing only happens occasionally. My jaw is swollen and throbbing, and I'm pretty sure it's a flare encouraged by the traumas in that general area. I think I'm doing better than I thought I would at about 2 weeks out. The " surreal " feeling is still here, but I've always had something like that for a while after general anastesia. I'm not sure if this is related to the surgery but I'm hoping so...when I took my shower, I didn't get winded at all. I'm really, really tired, but still, I didn't get overwelmingly tired. The ENT said because of having so much more room inside to breathe, he hopes (and thinks) I'll see more & more of this. When I look back over the last few years and at how little exertion it took to wind and exhaust me, I always attributed it to the obesity. But I guess that wasn't the whole picture. My voice is squeaking back...I can say maybe 2 sentences, the it burns and hurts, so I'm trying to respect that. For all your prayers & support, I thank you all. You are a dear, sweet, wonderful group of friends. Hugs of Hope... Tess
