Kathi,

I need to have a root canal in the next few weeks, and I was just reading

about the theory that root canals can cause systemic disease. I don't know

what to make of it. As I read on, it said that even if you have the tooth

extracted you can still have systemic infection from it and that the only

people who know how to handle the situation correctly are the holistic

dentists. But it makes me wonder if they're not trying to drum up business

for themselves. I hate to think that having the root canal will harm my

already fragile immune system.

Any thoughts? Anyone?

Hugs,

Carol

Re: [ ] Thin-Skinned Patient Gets Relief at Last

....not trying to butt in...but I gotta say

something....when I was first diagnosed I looked

everywhere for pics of scleroderma....and found the

Erlangen site....It really scared me...then I was told

by several different docs these pictures portray the

severest cases ....and not everyone will fall into

that catagory...even the medical texts show worse

case cases....so they are good for reference but

everyone will have different variations...also thanks

for the link but I cant get it to work the one on MTX

and bruising..they also have me taking prednisone with

the MTX to kick start it, but I have taken the

prednisone before and never had the bruising...which

brings me to something Debbie Mc said it was explained

to me it takes the MTX about 3 months to really start

working so they combine it with the prednisone to get

you feeling better until the MTX kicks in....then they

taper you off the prednisone or at least that is the

deal he gave me...and if the MTX doesnt work then we

try cytoxan...

I constantly wonder are the drugs or the disease going

to get you in the end...I have been reading an

interesting book ...Lupus...Alternative therapies that

work...it goes into detail on several autoimmune

diseases amd is quite interesting.... I thought of

you when I was reading it as there is a whole chapter

on nontoxic dentisrty and the problems with teeth and

autoimmune diseases...anyway I am rambling on...

welcome in OK...where in OK?

Debs I hope you are getting some sleep///and to all

hoping you have a restful night...Kathi in OK
