Guest guest
: Not bad for an old broad! Sorry I have been off line for so long. My husband has been having some problems, he's 78 and thinks he's 20, won't slow down, couldn't get b/p under control and won't quit work. Still works 7 days a week!. At least he cut down to four hrs a day and b/p is finally back to norm. As for me, I am miserable. Can't get my 2nd knee replacement until Oct 2nd as it is " elective " . I can barely walk, in fact, I now WADDLE, to balance. Quite a picture. I am on the list should there be a cancellation. Pain is unbearable, I tried the Arava, it did well but broke me. I have filled out paperwork for assistance but haven't heard yet. Tried Oxycontin 10 mgs., helped some, took it twice a day, but because of being an addict, I was really afraid of it. Found myself tempted to take more sooooo I didn't feel I should tempt myself any further. So in a nut shell, I am doing as good as can be expected. Sure wish someone would invent a cheap miracle drug for the pain, guess that's too much to ask. I guess I will continue to Waddle through the summer, I bet I have Charlie Chaplin beat with my walk!!!! Have a great day. Jan in SC
Guest guest
Jan, Sorry to hear that they consider a knee replacement ³elective². I guess that means they think you ³elect² to be in agony? There was nothing elective about mine! My knee locked up and that was it! I hope your wait isn¹t to brutal. Maybe one day they will not only come up with a magic pain pill, but they¹ll also come up with a cheap magic CURE for all of us. Wishing a painfree day for you, a > : Not bad for an old broad! Guest guest
I'm with a, Jan! I wish they didn't categorize TKRs as " elective. " Sometimes it truly is an emergency - a necessity at the very least. I really hope you can get lucky with a cancellation opening very soon. They should hurry up with your answer about getting assistance. You have been living with a lot of pain for a long time. Yes, a cheap miracle drug would be wonderful. I hope your husband will behave from now on. I'm glad he's so active though. Keep us posted, Re: [ ] Jan in SC Jan, Sorry to hear that they consider a knee replacement ³elective². Guest guest
: Had a good sunday, didn't throw up. My daughter came over and we went to a craft store and window shopped. Did pretty well, although it was tiring. Feeling good but stiff today, stiff I can handle, pain I can't. It is chilly here about 50 so it does affect the joints. My new email is: burnettaljanb@.... Got fed up with AOL, always getting kicked off. So I'll try this for awhile. Hope you have a good day, free of pain. Jan in SC
Guest guest
<PRE>i remember when they first told me i had glaucoma. i cried all day and wondered if i would see my son grow up. it's scary information to get. i don't drive very often because i get so dizzy. but i still have not given my license. i try to make my appointments at non peak hours. take my time and let them fly by me. my son is 19 now, a very nice young man and i am glad i am able to keep my sight. i did 2 laser surgeries that didn't work. just gotta take my meds and do what my dr tells me. just hang in there. it's ok to be scared. kathy in il
