Guest guest
Yep that is my problem: I underwent serious neurological study as well and came out totally clean until this young doctor suggested doing biopsy for small fiber. Unlike some other tests that you all are familiar with, this one has simple answer - yes or no. So now I am seriously concerned what it means to have BOTH Still's symptoms and this neuropathy. Meanwhile my leg pains are progressing to the point that it is difficult to move and MTX has not done anything yet. Well maybe my throat does not hurt so much and my upper body moves better. Mikhail, I was diagnosed ten years ago and underwent a few nerological exams when they were trying to make the diagnosis. Basically I was fine in that department. Hope this info helps you. In my case, my rheumatologic " discovery " was somewhat parallel to neurological one. Rheumotological one ended up talking about Still's. Neurological one produced surprising diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy. I suppose it might make sense since both can be considered autoimmune. But I am afraid that both lines of spectacular symptoms can be rooted in some common, yet unknown reason. Anyway, going to neurologist tomorrow to discuss the small fiber thing so I would really appreciate if the group has relevant wisdom to share. I came to rely on it ;-)
Guest guest
Hi Mikhail, I've had bouts of neuralgias mostly of my facial region from time to time over the years and was always told that Still's can affect any tissue and organs so never gave it another thought. Hope this added info helps you some. _____ From: Garber, Mikhail <mgarberamazon (DOT) <mailto:mgarber%40amazon.com> com<mailto:mgarber%40amazon.com>> Date: Monday, December 1, 2008, 10:03 AM Hi, I am curious if some of you had neurological disorders at the same time as your Still's was diagnosed. ____________________________________________________________ Click to become a master chef, own a restaurant and make millions. http://thirdpartyoffers.netzero.net/TGL2241/fc/PnY6rx9Mm3kNJtFlI0duni2ERJxdaHtEU\ 4k0Zspq9w7Ci8QLAGF8S/
Guest guest
I was interested in your e-mail. I haven't any info. On fiber neuropathy, but would be very interested in what the neurologist had to say, perhaps you could let us know if you feel up to it. All the best for tomorrow Joan U.K.
Guest guest
I also wound up with many neurological disorders, but not all of them started at the same exact time as Stills. I get indescribable headaches that have been there since day one, but a few other issues developed shortly afterwards, yet after all of the MRI's, MRA's, CT scans etc I have never been given a neurological diagnosis to explain the problems, and I've been to many different people as I try to seek out the best within 200 miles of me. I also saw a Neuro-Optamologist (spelling???) as some Dr's thought my eyes may be responsible for the headaches, double/quadruple vision, etc...but everything checked out perfect on that front also. I pretty much have accepted what happened and try to live with the various problems, even though some of them make living a real pain in the ass! Sorry I can offer no help to you, but keep plugging, and NEVER SURRENDER! Guest guest
Hi, I have also ended up with some neur problems. Trigeminal Neuralgia being by far the one that is my biggest problem and then cluster headaches. I have given up trying to go to doctors about it since there isn't much that they can do for it other than pain med right now. I may try to find a new doc here and re-address it this year, but I'm not in a hurry. I have also been dx'd with some neurlgia issues that start in my back and impact my left calf/foot. Sortof crazy, but since I'm having problems with my back, I guess that makes sense. I'm sorry you having these problems. When I first got hit with them, I wanted them fixed, immediatly. I finally realized that there wasn't a doctor that could fix them and it was about me accepting them and trying to keep stress low so that I wouldn't trigger the worse of the pain. Hang in there, Alli
Guest guest
Marty (YES...I " M STILL F***** AWAKE!!!) I am able to " blow off steam " , but the most effective way is to use Mr. Left jab along with Mr. Right uppercut, cross & overhand!!! LOL. I sure do miss those days! I know I could still out muscle & outsmart someone if I had to.....but I probably wouldn't be able to move for a month or so.....and one wrong move my spine will disintegrate.......I guess it will come down to how bad someone asks for it... LOL! I know I still have some fight left in me, but realize the consequences by far outweigh the benefits anymore...and that sucks! I think I'll go drill my head off of the wall in an attempt to knock myself out! I can't stand this not being able to sleep ALL night long anymore!
