Guest guest
June, What are we going to do with you????? If your son hasn't said it, we all will for him.......why weren't you using your cane? You gotta take care of yourself....so many people (including all of us) depend on you! I hope your arm heals quickly and hopefully is not too painful. All your southern friends are partying Happy Birthday America today, but still think of all you to our North. I admire your strength with the medical profession. Maybe you could bottle up some of that strength and send it really far south to Whimpy Deb here in Florida and I could use it with my docs. You are correct in that the time released pain medications don't do a whole lot. American docs still don't get anywhere near enough training in pain relief. It is a hit or miss type of thing with mostly the patients being hit or missed at. PLEASE take care of yourself and be careful. You are a special lady and a cherished friend. Gentle, tender, healing angel hugs, Debs in FL
Guest guest
June..I'm sorry to hear about your fall although I'm glad you weren't hurt any more than you were! I'm " supposed " to use my cane too but I get tired of it especially when I'm out in public. I'm thinking of putting a glow in the dark sticker that says " STOP STARING " down the front of it. Might tick a few people off 'tho eh? Anyway, this hot weather is supposed to break up tomorrow now I hear or so I keep hoping. I get behind on posts and wish I could answer more but the nice thing about this list is that someone always seems to be able to respond at one time or another. My hands/feet are my worst pain spots so I feel lucky to be able to type at all most times. Take care.. marrielle To look at something as though we had never seen it before requires great courage. - Henri Matisse [ ] pain etc. >I am a little behind reading posts because I lost my balance and fell, gashed my arm just under my noduled elbow. Had 6 stitches Monday night but I was afraid to use my arm too much in case the stitches didn't hold. Chris(son and paramedic) changed and cleaned the wound today and said it looked like the stitches were okay. Of course, he mentioned that if I had been using my cane it might have been avoided. Guest guest
June, isn't nice to know our children love us. I agree with your son you should use your cane. Its easier to give the advise than to take it, but think of those slow healing broken bones. I have enjoyed reading your messages. Hope you are heeling and take care. in WA >
Guest guest
June, Between your foot and now your arm, you must be hurting. I hope you heal quickly. Debs is right, to many people depend on you. Who is going to train these doctors if you¹re all banged up? I can understand your reluctance to use a cane. They are a pain in the butt, but they sure do help with balance. It used to bother me to use a cane since I started so young, but it¹s kept me from falling numerous times, so when the ground is uneven, I use it. I¹m just so glad you didn¹t break any bones. You¹re very lucky! I agree with you about chronic pain. So many of us are under treated and left to deal with way to much pain. It is not right, and I hope anyone suffering becomes more assertive with their doctors and insist that their pain be treated. Take care my friend.
