Guest guest
Hi Friends...just an update. Surgery was 1 week ago. Was discharged on the 4th day. Doctors are really pleased with my surgery. The nasal splints were romoved the third day...ugh...but good when it's over. Sleeping is still not possible for more than a few minutes at a time. So much coughing and choking. Food is not possible, but really pushing fluids. Saw Dr. today...he suctioned out a lot of stuff. He is very happy with my progress, but says I need to remember that professional atheletes have a miserable time recovering from this group of surgeries...why do I expect I should be stronger??? Still only a little, pained voice. He expects it to be much improved by my visit next week. I hate all the choking and spitting up, but I know it's necessary. Emotionally, this has been a bear. From the day I checked in, the hospital was contuinally inquiring of me when I'd be discharged. My ENT said not to worry....he'd keep me in til HE thought best...period. At times I felt pretty strong going through this...really doing my best to get healthier on all levels...PHOOEY on those who didn't want to try to understand. Other times I'd just cry over not being able to swallow, or talk. Of course, it hurts to cry. : ) Back to Remcade & Mtx next week...oh how I pray that goes back to normal since things went screwy with my Mother's Day flare. Thank you for all your kindness & prayers. Whenever someone would " roll their eyes " at me when I attemped to explain WHY I had a fever EVERY evening, I knew you all would be the first to understand. Hugs of Hope & Love to All... I¹m happy to hear that the doctors are pleased with your progress. Hopefully you¹ll be back to normal very soon. a On 6/18/02 9:59 PM, " Tess_St_Pierre@...
