Guest guest
Dear a Thanks for this information. I have been getting Synvisc injections in arthritic knee due to lack of cartilage but unfortunately it is only a temporary measure. This implant sounds as though it is worth some investigation. P.S. This group is great! --- a <paula54@...> wrote: > > Knee Surgery Breakthrough > > New implant could mean less fuss, less pain for > early arthritis sufferers. glide on its surface. > > > > " Our goal is to postpone a total knee replacement as > long as possible, " > UniSpacer co-developer Dr. Hallock said. > > > It takes an hour for Dr. Sampson, a Saint > Francis orthopedic surgeon, > to arthroscopically clean out what's left of 's > damaged cartilage, or > meniscus, and then insert a UniSpacer to fill the > gap. Guest guest
You're welcome Iris. It does sound promising. To bad I already had both my knees replaced! Are you getting any relief from the Synvisc Injections? Glad you like our group. It really is a wonderful group of very caring people. Hugs, a > Dear a > Thanks for this information. Guest guest
Dear a, Yes! I am getting relief from the injections. My hip and feet do not hurt as bad when that horrible, constant ache is not comming from my knee. The last ones lasted 15 months and to me that is a blessing! I really like my ortho dr who gives them to me as he is very thorough and caring. I'm not any where near ready to have a knee replacement and he said that they only last about 20 years and would probably have to be done again in my sixties so it would be better to hold off as long as possible. I see no reason for surgury as long as these injections are working. I endure them, ice them, and head on back to work. There are so many new things happening every day that I am very appreciative of the sharing of experiences through this group. Take care and have a painfree weekend (we can always hope)! --- a <paula54@...> wrote: > You're welcome Iris. It does sound promising. To > bad I already > had both my knees replaced!
