Guest guest
Sam, I have always thought that compression stockings were mostly used after some surgeries to reduce the chance of a thrombosis and were not really supposed to be worn like you would regular stockings. Have you heard anything like this yourself? Are there any benefits to wearing a compression stocking for normal use other than the way you feel when you have them on? I do know that they are diffucult to get on, but if you put some baby powder on your legs first they should go up alot easier for you. Guest guest
Hi i have heard that is the reason...but i had swelling above the ankles and my legs were fatigued....i tried them out and i use them for errands or working in the garden..also my knees tend to get very cold so i use them to keep the circulation going...when i lie on the bed to watch tv at night i also wear them..then when i remove the legs felt rejuvenated...after a few weeks the swelling above the ankles which is inflammation and not edema went down tremendously to the point it no longer burned.. i guess in a way i was asking the stockings to keep my legs having circulation increased and they really helped.. to me i would rather wear them BEFORE surgery than having to have surgery.. they are not an all day necessity for me...merely an aid like a cane if necessary to aid my body in keeping the blood flowing to the legs and ankles.. i thought it over and discussed it in another group andwith my sister and just thought i would try for the heck of it.. i only got the weight of 10....now i cant remember what the weight goes to but i did not get the heavy duty weight..NOT YET.. does this help sam [ ] compression socks > Sam, > I have always thought that compression stockings were mostly used after > some surgeries to reduce the chance of a thrombosis and were not really > supposed to be worn like you would regular stockings.
