Welcome to the group! You'll find a lot of caring and compassionate friends

as well as great info on RA.

Are you starting any DMARDS? (Methotrexate, Sulfasalazine, Plaquenil etc.)

Sorry you're having so much pain, and at such a young age. The hips and the

shoulders are the worst for me when I flare, too. The good news is there

are many newer drugs that are more able to control RA. Also, the first year

is usually the worst, because you're trying to get the disease under

control.

Hugs,

Carol (in FL)

Hi! Everyone. I have just been diagnosed with RA and I'm

only 24 years old. My rheumatologist also suspects that I

have Fibromyalgia too. All this is too new for me. I don't

even know where to start. Can you please help me? Feed me

some info on treatment options and what I could do to

prevent my next flare? I have been on Vioxx, Celebrex,

Mobic, Bextra and I'm now on Lodine but nothing seems to

work for my pains. I get pains on my hips and shoulders. I

don't know what to do. How is everyone coping with this?

Thank you so much.

Hello..I was diagnosed just a few months ago and I can say that I'm already

seeing an improvement in my ability to manage things. One thing I know for sure

is that there's alot of trial and error to finding the right mix of meds for

each individual person. I tell myself to hang in when staring new meds until I

know what will help more than hurt. Also some days are definitely worse than

others and I have learned to enjoy the good ones now. I used to do everything

that needed to be done instead..mistake. Anyway, you are at the right place here

to connect with others with RA there are so many helpful people. BTW I tried

Mobicox ( in Canada ) which I think is Mobic in the U.S. and it didn't help me

much either. Take care..
