Guest guest
I think there are a lot more people out there afraid of needles than actually want to admit to it!I STILL don't like getting shots and blood tests. I remember as a child the dentist was going to give me a shot before doing his work. He started walking towards me with the biggest needle I had ever seen. He stopped when he got to me in the chair and said " ok now I want you to bend over and put your head between your knees " Now I was truly terrified because I couldn't see him and I couldn't imagine WHERE he was going to put that huge needle! He explained later that as he walked towards me, he watched all the color drain from my face until I was white as a ghost and he was afraid I was going to pass out!Another time the only way my father could get me to the doctor was to PROMISE that I was NOT going to get a shot. After we got to the doctor and I heard I really WAS going to get a shot, I RAN for the door but they were ready and actually tackled me to the ground to be able to give me the shot!So now I'm an adult and " normal " ???......I'm certainly better but can still feel light headed AFTER it's over!My daughter Lara does far better than I ever did! I think she has a higher tolerance for pain also. Guest guest
Kassi I to be of much fearful of shots too, can cooperate at times but not always good to it, it depends on my coping skills that day. but for me if in the hospital I to lay on my hands and arms and I to do that at the dentist too. if I to be of sitting I to sit on the free hand and such to keep self from grabbing and or pinching them. It also depned smuch on the person who is of going to give of me the shot or take of the blood if they are too direct and firm and bossy and not playful and have words in ways for me to have a mild connect to them it makes of it harder for me to cope it. I to hate of the IV sorts of shots the most. this one causes of me such anxiety my whole body shakes so badly they think I to be of freezing and so they put of warmed blankets to me and such to warm of me but over time my body adjusts and calms but I to hate of them much so. sondra
