Guest guest
Good Afternoon everyone! I got home just a few minutes ago from Hon E.'s (one of my dogs) vet visit and may doctor's appointment. I'm so tired that you would think that I worked the night shift! The doctor put me on new medication (Prednisone 5mg) that the dosage is funny on. It is a steroid and he was leery about giving it to me before. But now that I'm on the Fosmax for the Osteo, he says that it will be OK to take. If I don't take the Fosmax, the steroid will hasten my osteo even more. But anyway, I take 4 pills a day this week. Next week I take 3 a day, 2 a day the following week and finally the last week I take 1 a day. He says that I should see a big difference by the end of this week. I hope so, I can barely walk. Any one else fimilur with this? It took me a 1/2 hour just to be able to go potty this morning. And you know how urgent that can be. He also told me that I should be wearing cloth tennis shoes because the give in the fabric. I picked up two pair at Kmart before leaving the Falls. It was an exciting trip to International Falls this morning though. First of all, a huge buck with the velvet still on his antlers jumped out in front of me. No problem, I wasn't close to hitting him. I slowed down in case he decided to go back across the road, the way they do sometimes. There was a big truck behind me, traveling too fast, and he had to slam on his brakes to avoid hitting me. He was tailgating me anyway. Boy, if I were the type to give someone the finger, it would have been that truck driver! The speed limit on that road is only 55mph and he must have been going 70. I got over that and was thinking that this area would be a good place to see bears this morning. I no more than thought that when here, on the north side of the road, sits a big black bear. Sunning himself! I slowed down, in case he wanted to cross in front of me...first checking my rearview mirror to make sure I wasn't being tailed by a truck. The bear stayed there just looking at me. I yelled at him to make sure that he was all right and hadn't been hit by a car. He stood up and kinda waved his paw at me, got down and ran over to the river. Wow! That was terrific! Two black bear sightings by ME! There was one in our front yard one night, tearing up my bird feeders. It's one of the reasons we moved here. Well, what else can happen you ask! Drove a little further (it's 68 miles from our house to International Falls) and saw a skunk by a drive way with a dog giving the weirdest face you ever saw! Yep, ol yeller got sprayed! The little skunk kept going for the dog too! He wasn't gonna let him get away! Hon was having a fit! She can't stand the smell of skunk and to see a dog right there! It was just too much for her! That, the bear and the buck! Goodness! Well, what else could possible happen to me on the way, you ask? As I drove a little further, just past Loman (a cute little town) I spotted a cat crossing the road about a block ahead of me. I saw her make it OK, but then to my horror here comes 5 little kittens! I slammed the brakes on again! Stopped the truck to shoo them out of the road, they couldn't have been more than 6 weeks. They started spiting at me and growling! Anyway, they ran after their mom and made it across OK. Darn! What else, you foolishly ask.....just a few miles outside of the Falls, a pick up passed me, and slammed into a SUV coming from the other direction! I couldn't believe it! The pick up behind the SUV slammed into the rear of the SUV and the car behind the pickup slammed into the pick up! 4 vehicals in all! It looked like the girl that passed me was hurt, but everyone else got out of their cars. I didn't stop, there wasn't anything I could do and I noticed that one of the drivers had a cell phone. I feel lucky to have made it home in one piece! Phew! I made my appointment, no problem. Went to Kmart to fill my prescription and their computers were down. They couldn't have it ready for me today. So I went back to the clinic and got it filled there. Then back to Kmart to shop. Got Hon to the vet. Hon E. was in a bad mood today...too many dogs running lose around the vets office and inside. Made her nervous. She growled at the vet and snapped at his nurse! That was it! I had enough for one day! I'm gonna go crawl under the bed now, see ya all later!
