Guest guest
Ok I'm home. I really do not like going to the dentist. That is where most of the problem is. I waited too long to take care of that cracked tooth and it got some infection and went to the nerve. It really wasn't that painful and with everything else going on (back surgery, flares, etc...) it was the least of my worries. Maybe if it had hurt more, I would have gone sooner. I just do not like the idea of someone else's hands in my mouth. Not to mention that I have an abnormally small jaw and it is really hard to get it open wide enough for anything to be done. That was the major problem today. My dentist was having a really hard time maneuvering around in there and I was having a hard time keeping my mouth open wide enough. Finally he put in a bite block and I could relax a little. The tech even had trouble getting the x-ray because the film wouldn't fit into my mouth. I was going to suggest that they use pediatric supplies, but they got the job done. My jaw is a little sore and I have a temporary filling. I go back next Friday for part 2 and I may have to have a part 3 because of all the difficulty. I am just happy to be getting it done finally. Maybe I'll pay more attention next time. Thanks for all of your cyber-wishes. Love and Hugs Stacey in PA
Guest guest
, I'm glad it went well. I think because of the RA when I had my jaw open for hours at the dentist the other day it was really sore. I imagine with a small jaw it would be that much worse. I always feel relief when a dentist visit is over. Get some rest tonight. Hugs, Carol [ ] home from the dentist Ok I'm home. Guest guest
I'm glad you got through the first part of your root canal, Stacey. The first part is usually the most difficult ( or it is for me anyway), so the next appointments should be easier and, hopefully, shorter. Sorry that you don't have much room for them to maneuver in. Hope you are OK today, [ ] home from the dentist > Ok I'm home. I really do not like going to the dentist. That is where most > of the problem is. Guest guest
Stacey, I also have a very small mouth and have had a lot of problems with poor dental work because there isn't enough room to work in. I now only use female dentists because their hands are smaller. They also use a block to prop open my mouth. I have had 3 surgeries on TMJ due to arthritis. The first one was when I was 25 and the last one was at 40. I am once again beginning to have pain in the joint. so that is really made worse when I go to the dentist. They have to use the children's bitwings to get them in my mouth. I usually end up with bad pain for at least a week after I go to the dentist. My suggestions are to find a female dentist and also take pain meds about 30 minutes before you go. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Thanks Carol, It really wasn't as bad as I had planned in my head. Just a little sore today, but I'm used to being a little sore. Its just in a different place. Love and Hugs Stacey in PA
Guest guest
Hi My jaw is just a wee bit sore today. Not too bad. My feet and ankles are swelling pretty bad again. My PCP had increased the HCTZ last week but it is still getting progressively worse. My echocardiogram is normal. I'm stumped on this one. Couldn't even get my sandals on today. I put in a call to PCP on Friday, but she wasn't in so she will probably get back to me on Monday. Love and Hugs Stacey in PA
Guest guest
Hi Iris, Thanks for the suggestion. My dentist is a small person and has small hands, but still had trouble. I know that women usually have smaller hands than men, even the ones with small hands. I do like this dentist and hope to never have to go through this again, but next time I think I will take your advise. By the way, some members of my family really have a hard time believing that I have a small mouth. LOL Love and Hugs Stacey in PA
