Guest guest
My daughter is 13 years old and is diagnosed PDD. She is verbal, very bright, but has limited academic skills and social skills characteristic of PDD. For the past three years, she was enrolled in day care at " A Child's View " in Magnolia. This served us well until this year. From November through March, Magnolia Junior High School enrolled her at Bayes Achievement Center day school in hopes to resolve behaviorial issues which prevented academic progress. Although she has improved at school both academically and behaviorally, her behavior at daycare declined. I can only attribute this to hormonal changes, or the daycare's increasing intolerance of 's behaviors. I have contacted Sharon of MISD special education, but she will be of limited help because of confidentiality rules. I have registered for services with Tri-County MHMR, but it seems that they can only offer very limited financial relief, and I am on my own when it comes to finding a day care provider. Because is 13 years old, and because of her inability to cope in conventional day care environments, I feel that the best solution is to find an individual who can watch her from their home with their own child. This individual needs to live in MISD because MISD will not go beyond their routes and bus her to any out of district location. I've exhausted all the resources in Magnolia that I know of. Time is running short, and I do not know who else to contact. Please contact me by e-mail or telephone. Thank you. Tim (cell) (home)
