Guest guest
That's a shame about your PCP. I have a great PCP, and I'm so thankful for it. He spends an hour talking to me every visit. He's like a small town doctor, and I really consider him a friend. He was a surgeon, and had heart problems and went to family practice to avoid stress. The only drawback is that he really doesn't know much about RA. With my hormones, though, he did much reading and investigating to try to find the best option. He told me to research on the web and see if there were any alternative treatments for the RA that looked promising, too. I like the fact that he is interested in learning integrative medicine. He has me taking essential fatty acids and enzymes for the inflammation. I hope you find a better PCP soon. Having a good treatment " team " is so important. Asking your rheumy for a referral is a good idea. Have a good night! Hugs, Carol Re: [ ] feeling better (Carol) Thanks Carol, I find that the lack of sleep doesn't bother me as much when I'm able to control the pain better. I can always take a nap later in the day if needed. But when you are hurting, sometimes sleep is the only time you get any peace from the pain. A friend of mine got me into the sweeps thing. She won a couple of vacation trips and some other small stuff also. (duffle bags, jackets, etc.) It is very interesting what some of these companies are willing to give away. You are right, my rheumy is taking me seriously. I have no complaints about his treatment of me. My PCP is another story. I am becoming more and more disappointed in her. She seems to be intimidated by my RA. At one point she had one of her girls tell me not to contact her for RA problems, to just call my rheumy. So I am on the search again. After working with doctors for many years, the problem is that I know too much about them. Especially the ones in our small area. Since I trust my rheumy ultimately, I am going to ask him for his suggestion and see what happens from there. The only good thing about my present PCP is that she is close and I can get any referrals that I want. Convenience. But I think I need someone who is a bit more agressive with my disease and its symptoms. Love and Hugs, Stacey in PA
