SCOBY fell when checking taste: Wahhh!

I am on my second brew of Kombucha! I used up the first batch too quickly

because I started with a quart container.

The first batch was delicious and I was hooked from the start. And even

though I was started drinking a small amount, I finished the last of it

yesterday. I went to check my second batch at day 5 hoping it would be ready.

the first batch was ready at day 6. When I tried to insert a straw in the edge

of the jar my SCOBI sunk. And....... my brew is not KT yet. It did not taste

vinegary at all.

My first batch had one bag of English Breakfast Tea and one bag of Green Tea

and I have been reading that Green Tea brews faster. The second batch had just

English Breakfast Tea.......sigh

I poured a tbsp of pasteurized apple cider vinegar on the top of my brew to

protect it since the SCOBI fell down.

I have ordered supplies and a 2 1/2 gallon container for Continuous Brew KT.

In the meantime I think I may need to get a gallon glass container. I love this

stuff!
