Need to work!

I am at my wits end, I need to go to work and have no idea what I can

do, maybe some of you have some suggestions. I have been a

hairdresser for 33 years and am not going to go back to it, I can't

stand long enough (having trouble with legs, ankles, knees and feet)

and my wrist are sore. I can still give a mean haircut but the

perming isn't going to work with sore hands and shoulders. I have

done a few things when my children were in elementary school with the

PTA group.

I am having trouble thinking of something to do that requires less

lefting, standing, seating and using my hands. This RA is not a fun

thing as you all know.

My family says to apply for disability, but I look healthy, although

over weight, which I would change tomorrow if it was that easy. What

a pickle!

Any Ideas!

Hope this doesn't sound whiny, I am frustrated.

:

Have you considered getting your real estate license and either becoming an

agent yourself of being an experienced agent's assistant?? There are several

agents in the Arlington, WA area who previously were hair stylists and have

done quite well! I love real estate because of the flexibility in work

hours- I set my own schedule and can work from home when I'm having a bad

day and can reschedule appts if I need to!!

I have my own business in my home. I upgrade, repair, sell computers

along with training customers on software usage and internet. I also

set up network systems and bank modems. I repair TV's VCR's and

stereos too. That is, when my fingers are working.

I don't know how long I'm going to be able to do this work, I'm in

the early stages of RA and still have good range of movement in my

hands and wrist. It's even better now that the doctor put me on

steriods. I do know that I love what I do and I'm independent. I

worked in business management most of my career and let me tell you,

there is nothing like working for yourself.
