Guest guest
Yeah, I got the moon face thing too. I have two ID badges for Nursing clinicals. One was made about a year ago and one was made about 3 months ago. Looks like two different people. Funny, neither of them look like me! Glad you are so into nutrition. When I start working on my nutrition books for school again, you might be hearing from me! </HTML>

Guest guest
If you can...walk a few miles per day....I am physically never going to be what I was again (work-out nut/powerlifter) but noticed that just from coaching mini football for 4.5 months I lost 23 lbs...all from walking (I can no longer run...I gimp along with a cane on a good day). Too bad 15 of them have come back on, but I've been ill to a degree since Thanksgiving and haven't been able to do much. If you have a dog, take it with you. If there is a high school track near you...do 8 laps at a shot (that equals 2 miles)...I'm sure if you are able to be active and do it you will gradually lose some. I have to add...I know how you feel...I went from a solid 230 lbs (5'6.5 " ) with a 54 " chest and a 22 " neck w/ a 35 " waist.....Man I miss that " look " . My waist is still smaller than my chest, but the gap is closing! Have a good one, Kirk. > > Hello. Its been awhile since I have talked. Sorry, its just been such a > hetic time. Guest guest
No  I don't think so unless they can do it with a blood test...I had soooooo many blood tests when i was in the hospital they probably even checked to see if i was pregnant (and I am 53 years old!  lol  54 next week! ) They said it was the prednisone that would do the weight gain...I better watch my sodium count better..and skip the pop corn and have fruit and walk a bit more...but I get so weak I cant even climb steps without stopping...hard to lift the legs.. me..42 Re: Hello -- Chin.... Guest guest
They told Mark that pred would redistribute your body's fat to your back, stomach and face as well as increase your appetite. Mark ended up with what they call Moon Face...his whole face got bigger...he looked like he had had wisdom tooth surgery. It has gone down as his pred has gone down so don't lose hope on that chin! Guest guest
I'm doing the diet thing too. Just cutting out (down) on the junk and trying to eat healthier. I think stress is what has caused me to gain so much weight. That and the pred. I need to lose about 100 pounds to be happy. I know it is gonna take a while, but each little bit I lose will make me feel better. Might try to get some walking in if I can find time. I have a good friend who has to diet for health reasons so we are doing it together. Wish me luck! </HTML>

Guest guest
I'll trade all of you....in the summer I coach mini football, and this year dropped over 25 lbs (mainly because I wasn't sittingaround like I would be doing if I didn't coach) and started to see my " old " self a little in the mirror. It isn't easy being 5'6.5 " tall when your normal weight (in very good shape) was between 220-230, I'd drop to about 215 if I stopped lifting for a few months.....since then I've been as high as 281 and now am back up (251 this summer) to 267. I can live without looking like a lifting machine, but I DESPISE the gut!!!!! The only thing in my favor is that my chest is still a little bigger than the gut, but what used to be a 19 " difference is down to about 4 or 5 " . Than again I'm a guy, so each of you have me beat on that front. Guest guest
I also got the really round face, and I had fat add to my back when I was on Pred. Starting in October 2006 I have lost 45 pounds. I weighed 215 pounds at my heaviest. It took a year after stopping Pred before I lost the weight. I am down to 170 lbs. Which is less than what I weighed when I graduated College by 10 pounds and less than 15 pounds what I weighed when my first symptoms of Still's showed up. My face is now thin and looks more like it did when I was in high school (except it is 10 years older and has wrinkles starting). Hang in there. If you watch what you eat, and are able to get some exercise in the chin should get better. If doing exercise on land is not possible check into a Aquatic Exercise class. I use a cane to get around my house because it is set up with chairs or something every so often for me to be able to sit and rest when needed. If I am out and about I almost always have to use my wheelchair. But I have found out I can exercise in water and aquatic exercise is very good for the joints.
