Guest guest
I buy all my part from Parts Department http://www.partsdeptonline.com/ they also will answer all questions and have help pages on their web site. I used to use a belly milker- for free worked okay but not the best. Rebuild your pastator keep oil handy. We had one for milking 2 goats at a time and used one for cows. You do not need the strap. Just set the bucket under the cow and between goats I would never be with out a vaccum release andguage. I did not feel these were the best for udder health but can work. I used meduim clear inflations for goats and if your cow has small teats try a smaller inflation made for jersey teats. to clean the best I have found is manual tank cleaner with a shot of bleach. buy some brushes to get the nocks and cranies. You be fine.Liz in NY To: RawDairy From: gregshafer77@...Date: Tue, 23 Sep 2008 15:31:22 +0000Subject: surge milker questions HelloI was given a surge milker M# SP-11 and two belly pails. I know nothing about how to use this. Is there a source for a manual or instructions of any kind. Questions I have are how many belly milkers can this handle at one time, inflation size, I have a first time freshner with really short teats, do I need a vacume guage and regulator, how do I wash the belly bucket and infations to make sure I don't get any bacteria in the milk, do I need the strap that goes over the back and the steel rod underneath or is there a less expensive way to hang the bucket. I'm milking cows and goats, can I convert one to a goat milker by extending the vac and milk lines from the belly tank and set it beside the milkstand. Where is the best place to buy supplies for the milkers, how do you know when the cow is finished milking? Thanks in advance for any and all answers to my many Questions.ThanksGreg Get more out of the Web. Guest guest
Hi Greg Try at he has lots of stuff for milkers. This type of milker is listed on ebay a lot so if you need parts you can go there to find them. You might find it possible to convert this to a bucket milker that sits on the floor as the surge belly milkers are hard to handle when full. Guest guest
Hi Liz, Why would these be worse for udder health than other types of milkers?
