I think I sort of grew a SCOBY using GT's Original and Tea/sugar (2 weeks and it was a thin but milky white color). Then I brewed a fresh gallon of sweet tea and poured the SCOBY and liquid into a gallon pickle jar. Then 1 day later I removed what looked like a bunch of dark almost black dead yeast, but not mold. Now I am hoping I haven't messed anything up by doing that. So just in case... Does anyone have a SCOBY for free (or sale) in the Chapel Hill area of North Carolina? Thanks in advance.
