Guest guest
Hi, Everyone is unique and no one thing is right for everyone. This is the first time i have heard of anyone becoming anemic while drinking KT. I have been reading the posts to this list almost daily, since 1995 however, I could have missed one. Might be a good idea to check the archives which I also will do. Did you just start to drink black tea in addition to KT? I have also been drinking both since 1994 and have no problem with anemia but as I said, everyone is different. I would suggest you pursue the anemia question further, while it may be from the tea, there may be many other causes too. Guest guest
you could brew kt using white or green teas if you don't like black/red... > > > Hi everyone > > I am NEW here.. > > Thanks for the acceptance in becoming a part of this group I have been drinking Kombuchi made with Black Tea for about 2 months now.. > > BUT I started to get weak and sick feeling...just believing it was the detoxing going on, until I just could stand hardly anymore so I went to the Doc. and found out for some reason I have become really badly anemic.. > She asked me what I have been doing lately that is different that could be contributing to this happening all of a sudden? > > All I could think of was I was drinking " BLACK tea " Kombucha and Kefir water...(here is something really interesting... Guest guest
Thankyou Bev... Yes I am searching for the cause for sure..as I too realize we are all so different from each other... that is why I was hoping someone might know more about I never drank black tea before nor now.. I have never liked BLACK tea ever or any other kind of tea for that matter except for HERB tea a few times... for yrs I have only drank water all the time. Only now am I drinking black tea in the kombucha only because it is how I make the Kombucha(which I will add I luve the taste so much of the kombucha I make... it is delicious, I let it sour more than my friends do as I luve the stronger vinegar taste) Also the kefir is excellent.. I also let it brew longer than others do.. delicious. Can Kombucha ever be made with any kind of HERB TEA at all? thanks so much for any help. gratefully appreciated

Guest guest
Great... thanks so much That gives me another idea maybe you know the answer to. Do you know if I could use any kind of a " HERB " tea at all instead of black green or white? I have never heard of red tea, I will look it up. I have just NEVER been a tea drink ever... I do not like tea, just nice clear water is what I have drank all the time. Must say I luve the Kombucha and kefir though but it is the vinegar taste I luve so much...Delicious!!! thanks appreciate you taking time to reply

Guest guest
It can happen. With anything good that detox's our systems something has to be used to help the detox. In my case, where I started drinking Kombucha, I would get leg cramps , like charlie horses. I though it was potassium, but , it was Magnesium. The charlie horses went away after supplimenting Magnesium , and havent returned. Im not saying it is Magnesium in your case though. We all have differant bodies, and somehow Kombucha will let us know what we need too. If, you think its anemia, try a high absorbing Iron suppliment and see if it goes away. Try switching tea flavors, mix green and black, white and green, pretty much any combo, and see what works for you. Thats the fun in Kombucha. Guest guest
According to the link to the article below occasional tea drinker can suffer anemia but consistent, long terms drinkers do not because their body adjust to the tea. The article explains it better. You should cut back for a while to allow your body to build up. You can also start drinking beet kvass. Beets are a great source of absorable iron. http://www.amazing-green-tea.com/green-tea-and-iron.html > > > > > > Hi everyone > > > > I am NEW here.. Guest guest
Wow this was interesting... thanks for sharing I have been getting leg cramps which I never have before... so to me that seemed weird but I never thought it may be the KT And just today my husband went and got some liquid minerals which I see has magnesium in it.. to help me absorb the iron plus taking a few more things to help me right now.... I also had my first batch of kefir water made with molasses and must say it is the first time for over a week I have had a bit more energy and could get up and walk around more.. NICE thanks for sharing Bless
Guest guest
Can a person put lemon juice and rind " right in the kombucha when it is brewing " as well as other herbs besides just sweetened tea and scoby? thanks so much for sharing > > I use Floradix Iron and Herbs for my monthly anemia and it works very well. Yellow Dock is another herb you could take. I have taken it in tincture form and had energy results within 15 minutes. I wonder about maybe even adding some iron rich herbs in with your Kombucha? > Â > > Modiste
Guest guest
Interesting... thanks I just read also that beets are high in oxalic acid also... this is what it says:http://www.magdahavas.com/pick-of-the-week-9-0-95-and-2-45-ghz-most-lethal-\ microwave-frequencies/ ~~eet greens supply a goodly amount of calcium, but they also contain " oxalic acid " , which will " leach " calcium from your system. Whenever I cook greens with an oxalic acid content (beets, spinach, chard), I top the steaming hot dish with cheese, which will preferentially " bind with the oxalic acid " , so I can retain the healthful calcium.~~ I also found that " In general, the highest concentration of oxalic acid is found in the " leaves " and the least in the roots. So that is why black tea etc has so much in it... it is made from the leaves.. wow..(and I now know that the oxalic acid can also lead to anemia in some, which I believe is what is causing it in me) Seems there is always something one can eat with something else if there is an effect because of it... very interesting stuff for sure.. I am going to try the beet Kvass... since I will NOT be eating them(beause it is eating them that constipates me) thanks so much bless you...
