Guest guest
I know there has been some conversations here about wounds and casting but I was wondering if any of your connective tissue disorder kiddos have the problems that has...After every surgery we are pretty much guaranteed that his wounds will re open. Even after months of healing. Well the last surgery was no exception except that now we have an open wound with a cyst that keeps bursting behind it causing a flow of liquid streaming out of it constantly. Which keeps the wound wet and unable to dry. I am really tired of dressing changes and was wondering if any of you supermoms know of any super tricks for these kinds of problems. I am going in to see the doctor today and I think we are going to see the Wound care specialist (nurse) and see if she can help us out but I know I can Always find some really good info from all of you. I should also mention that he has two other wounds on his back that also have openings but not the cyst problems...... Thanks for your ear. Guest guest
Hi Connie - As you know Siobhan has a CTD, and the dx of Marfan Syndrome. She has very soft silky skin, and some stretch marks, but has no problems with wounds healing. Sorry! But in fact, she heals beautiful. She has a number of scars on her back now, and all the doc's remark how good they all look. I'd post your question on the veptr.com site too - there's lots of experience there as well.... Give a hug from us :-) Jacki & Siobhan > > I know there has been some conversations here about wounds and casting but I was wondering if any of your connective tissue disorder kiddos have the problems that has...After every surgery we are pretty much guaranteed that his wounds will re open.
