Oh --you always give me a heads up :) He is gonna have a

venogram --trying again--in the AM. I WANT to talk w the doctor. I am

gonna look at those sites you sent. I did read somewhere that swelling in

something like this can cause DVT from RA....it slows down the circulation

creating a rubber band effect. Doc thinks this may be, but not sure. He is

on NO meds for his RA/OA. He hasnt had his Enbrel since the middle of June

cuz he got sick and they take him off so he can fight the sinus infection.

He isnt on Celebrex right now either cuz they say its a blood thinner effect

too. He takes Levaquin for a sinus infection, Allegra for his allergies and

Univas for his high blood pressure. No 'joint' meds now and he is hurting!

He swears by his Enbrel. He is still on the Metho but hasnt had that in

about 2 weeks. Its so frustrating when 2 doc say one thing and 2 go against

it. I hope to have answers tomorrow. He knows we are on this list, yet

been quiet for awhile (we camp alot on the weekends now) and I told him I

was gonna post to you all. What a great support group! I will keep ya

posted...thanks a MILLION!!!!!

Hi ...the doctor told us if it was from the knee down they could send

him home on meds, but like you said the knee up has a greater chance for

disaster if it moves. The doc said it would go right to his lung causes a

pulmonary embolism there....scary! I am gonna consult his rheumatologist

and let him know. I have been trying to find some of the things that can

happen along with RA/OA..like scleroderma (sp), sjogerns (sp). I just

want to be informed. Thanks for your help..I will keep ya posted. He has a

pad wrapped around his leg that has warm water flowing thru it and his leg

is elevated all day long. They tell us this will help w circulation. Take

care, and JOe in PA
